Let’s try to get this site/blog started!

The plan is to make this a food and tech blog with random day-to-day content in the mix.  How to plan, where to shop, what to buy, and how to prepare it all are all questions we seek to answer.

Several months ago we had to rethink our finances at home, and part of this is trying to figure out how to budget groceries. The conclusion was that we’d need to cut our spending on food down to a strict 200€ a month.


It’s not like we were eating in luxury, but poor planning slowly adds to the bill. An ingredient here, a small snack there, a quick pizza, and before you know it you’ve doubled your spending. Now, if all you wanted to do was eat cheap you could easily just load up on macaroni and rice. Lack of energy and malnourishment is not quite our goal. No. We needed not only to lower our grocery bill, but to eat healthier.

Let’s add that one of us is vegan, the other isn’t. For you the reader, this means we will be presenting vegan alternatives to every non-vegan meal.

Have we created the perfect grocery list at the best budget? Likely not.
This is an ongoing project that has been and will be continued to be tweaked as time goes on. This means we are open to comments, criticisms, and suggestions. For us, not only have we lowered our spending, but also improved the quality and variety of foods we eat.

I won’t spend too much time writing today, just stick around for updates – if you’re not interested in the non food related posts, feel free to skip them.
