Billing

(Posted September 2011)

An accident. A lady stopped by and drove me straight to the hospital. Attended right away, checked by a doctor, X-rays with such detail as I have never seen before (no blurry photos hanging over florescent tubes?), cleaned up by a nurse, and sent on my way. A sugestion for all foreign nationals in Finland, carry a copy of your Maaistraatti document with you at all times. For some reason or another the system didn’t recognize my Social Security number, meaning I’ll be sent a bill for the full cost (couple hundred euros), which I then have to figure out who/how to get it reimbursed.

Anyway. All is well in Finland. Courses have already began, and winter peaks in every other day.
