Ferry/airport/train. The last few days I’ve been running around with some of the new students around, helping them with the essentials and getting them started in Finland. The HOAS (the student housing organization) office , was packed on the 1st, with hundreds of students waiting outside with their luggage and taxis stopping by every couple minutes to drop off new arrivals. Plenty of time to grab a ticket and go out for some lunch. The day before and after were much calmer, something to be aware of if you are moving to Finland.
As for orientation, if you’ve read all the university material before hand, there really is not much to add. Some free goods were given out (SIM cards, plush toys, and bags) and the day ran smoothly.
Otherwise, courses are about to start next week.
